Vendors

In the Didomi Console, a vendor represents an entity to which access to end-user data is granted for processing, in accordance with the specified purposes.

The different types of vendors in the Data Manager

The Didomi Console supports the following types of vendors:

  • Global vendors: A predefined set of common vendors created by Didomi.
  • IAB vendors: The vendors registered with the IAB TCF framework, and linked to the IAB purposes they have declared for themselves. View the full list here.
  • Google ATP vendors: The vendors listed in Google’s Ad Technology Providers (ATP) list, also linked to their chosen IAB purposes. View the list here.
  • Custom vendors: the vendors you create yourself to address specific privacy requirements.

Note: A 1st party vendor is also automatically created for your organization to represent your entity's data processing. Learn more here.

When you add your vendors to your banner, in the Regulations > edit vendors & purposes section, you can directly use the search filter to view these different vendor categories.

Configuring custom vendors

When you create your vendors, that is to say, 'custom vendors', you can configure the following parameters:

  • Name: Specify the vendor's name.
  • Privacy policy link: Provide a URL to the vendor's privacy policy.
  • Type: Choose between 1st party or 3rd party.
  • Purposes: Assign purposes and their legal bases (consent or legitimate interest).
  • Storage information: Add cookie and additional storage details.
  • Contact information: Provide the vendor’s address, email, or phone number (preferably for a privacy contact).
  • SDK ID: Define a custom SDK ID in the Advanced section. This is useful when you need to make the link with vendors created in a previous CMP in particular.

Add vendor

Notes about purpose settings:

  • For Global vendors, you can fully edit their purposes by adding or removing them directly from the Data Manager.
  • For Custom vendors you have full control over the purposes they serve and the legal basis they use, since you created them yourself (to be edited in the Data Manager as well)
  • For IAB vendors, Google ATP vendors, and Google vendors, you can add purposes but cannot remove their IAB purposes.

If the IAB TCF framework/ integration is enabled in a notice under GDPR regulation, overriding the IAB vendors' purposes won't be possible. Only the IAB purposes linked to the IAB vendor will appear in the notice.
