Manage entities within a widget

In the Purposes & Preferences section, you can display specific purposes, preferences, and their respective values in a widget. In addition, you can also reorder the entities at the same level within your widget.

  1. Go to your Didomi Console.
  2. Click on Preference Management, on the left menu.
  3. Choose your widget.
  4. Click on the pen icon to edit your widget.
  5. Go to Purposes & preferences page.

Enabling entities

By default, all entities added to your Configuration Tree are enabled when you create a new widget. Entities added to your Configuration Tree after the widget is created will be disabled. The following instructions show you how to manage the display of an entire Preferences section, a specific consent or preference request, or a preference value.

Section

To manage the display of a whole section, click on the three dots at the top of the Purposes & preferences card and then click on the Display section toggle. This will enable or disable the entire section, including the consent request and all its child entities.

Consent request

To manage the display of the consent request, click on the three dots button at the top of the Purposes & preferences card. Then, click on the Display the consent request toggle to enable or disable the purpose.

If you have created a Single purpose widget with a specific purpose, note that it is not possible to disable the consent request and its values.

Preference

You can manage the display of a preference by enabling/disabling all of its values.

If you are using a Preference Center or a Multi purpose widget, you can nest preferences within your purpose, and your purpose can contain multiple preferences. These preferences are independent from each other. This means that you can choose to hide one preference without hiding any nested preferences.

Preference value

To manage the display of a preference value, hover over the preference value and click on the toggle button.

If you are managing preference values for a single selection preference, enabling only one preference will cause the widget to display a checkbox instead of a radio button, allowing the user to deselect the value.

If you manage preference values for a preference added in a Single purpose widget, at least one value needs to be enabled.

Reordering entities

By default, the entities used within a widget follow the order of the Configuration Tree. However, you can manage the order of sections, preferences, and preference values.

Note that if you are editing a Single purpose widget with a preference, only the order of preference values can be changed.

Section

To manage the order of a whole section, click on the three dots button at the top of the Purposes & preferences card. Then, click on either the Move up or Move down button to move the section up or down in rank.

Preference

To manage the order of a preference, hover over the preference and click on either the Move up or Move down button to move the preference up or down in rank.

Note that you can change the order of preference at the same level of nesting.

Preference value

To manage the order of a preference value, hover over the preference value and click on either the Move up or Move down button to move the preference value up or down in rank.
